We inspected the inspectors checking fresh produce and cut flowers about to be exported.  The limited-access facility, located near the airport, is the last stop before the products are put on a plane.  Fresh cut flowers are a growing export to the US.  The facility includes a USDA-employed inspector, a fumigation chamber to make sure no pests are exported, and even a drug-sniffing dog to make sure no illegal exports are included among the thousands of kilos of bananas and other produce.
