Port Royal, once home to buccaneers like Henry Morgan (later to become Sir Henry Morgan) in the 17th Century, was known as "the richest and wickedest city in the world." This house, called the "Giddy House," was knocked off-kilter during the Port Royal earthquake. It is located within a fort in Port Royal used by the British in the 18th and 19th centuries. To the left of the house are the remnants of a huge cannon which once defended the city from attacks by sea (just beyond the trees). |
